Fran-Tastic Walks

Terms & Conditions & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: August 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to all dog walking, house visit and boarding services provided by Fran-Tastic Walks (“we”, “us”, “our”) to the owner or responsible person booking our services (“you”, “your”).

By booking our services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Our Commitment to Your Dog

At Fran-Tastic Walks, we aim to provide a professional, caring and reliable service tailored to the individual needs of each dog.

We are trained in canine first aid, hold dog-walking insurance and have undergone a DBS check.

While we take reasonable care to keep dogs safe and well cared for, dogs are animals and their behaviour, health and reactions can be unpredictable. We will always act responsibly and in the best interests of the dog.

2. Information You Provide

You must provide accurate and up-to-date information about your dog before services begin.

This includes, where applicable:

  • Your dog's name, age and breed/type

  • Veterinary details

  • Any medical conditions, allergies or medication

  • Behavioural issues, fears or triggers

  • Recall ability and training

  • Whether your dog is comfortable around other dogs, people, children and other animals

  • Any history of aggression, biting, escaping or destructive behaviour

  • Emergency contact details

  • Details of your dog's usual vet

You must inform us immediately if there are any changes to your dog's health, behaviour, medication or circumstances that could affect their care.

Failure to provide important information may affect our ability to safely provide the service.

3. Keys and Access

If you provide us with keys, access codes or other means of entering your property, these will be kept securely and used only for the purpose of providing the agreed service.

You should notify us immediately if a key, code or access arrangement changes.

4. Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. However, appointments are reserved specifically for your dog and late cancellations can mean that we are unable to offer that time to another customer.

Cancellations with 12 hours or more notice

You may cancel or rearrange a booking without a cancellation charge where you provide at least 12 hours' notice before the agreed start time.

Cancellations with less than 12 hours' notice

Where you cancel a booking with less than 12 hours' notice, we reserve the right to charge 50% of the agreed price for the cancelled service.

This charge is intended to reasonably reflect the time reserved for your booking and the potential loss of income caused by a late cancellation.

Where we are able to re-book the cancelled time with another customer, we may reduce or waive the cancellation charge where appropriate.

No-shows

If we attend an agreed booking and are unable to provide the service because nobody is available to provide access, or because the dog is unavailable without prior notice, this may be treated as a late cancellation and the 50% cancellation charge may apply.

Emergencies

We understand that genuine emergencies can happen. We will consider cancellations caused by exceptional or unforeseen circumstances fairly and on a case-by-case basis.

Nothing in this cancellation policy is intended to restrict any cancellation or refund rights you may have under UK consumer law.

5. Our Right to Cancel

We may cancel or refuse a booking where we reasonably believe that doing so is necessary for the safety or welfare of the dog, ourselves, another person or another animal.

Examples may include:

  • Aggressive or dangerous behaviour that has not been disclosed to us

  • A significant undisclosed medical or behavioural condition

  • The dog being unwell or showing signs of contagious illness

  • Unsafe conditions at the property or during a walk

  • Extreme weather or other circumstances that make providing the service unsafe

  • An emergency or circumstance outside our reasonable control

Where we cancel a service and no service has been provided, we will not charge you for that service.

6. Dog Health and Vaccinations

You are responsible for ensuring that your dog is appropriately vaccinated and protected against relevant diseases and parasites where appropriate.

Please inform us if your dog is showing signs of illness, has been in contact with a contagious illness, or has recently undergone veterinary treatment.

For the safety of other dogs, people and ourselves, we may decline to walk, board or visit a dog that appears to have a contagious illness.

7. Veterinary Treatment and Emergencies

If your dog becomes ill or injured while in our care, we will take reasonable steps to protect their welfare.

Where reasonably possible, we will contact you or your nominated emergency contact.

If urgent veterinary attention is required and you or your emergency contact cannot be reached, you authorise us to seek appropriate veterinary assistance for your dog.

You remain responsible for veterinary fees and other costs associated with your dog's treatment, unless those costs arise from our breach of contract or failure to provide the service with reasonable care and skill.

8. Off-Lead Walking

Dogs will only be allowed off lead where this has been specifically agreed and where we consider it reasonably safe and appropriate.

You must provide accurate information about your dog's recall and behaviour.

We reserve the right to keep a dog on lead if we consider this necessary for their safety or the safety of other animals or people.

9. Boarding and House Visits

For boarding and house visits, you must provide all relevant instructions concerning feeding, medication, exercise, routines and other care requirements.

Any special requirements should be agreed with us before the booking begins.

10. Payment

Payment is due in accordance with the payment arrangements agreed at the time of booking.

Prices for services will be communicated to you before the service is provided.

We will not normally provide additional services or incur additional costs without your agreement, except where reasonably necessary to protect the welfare of your dog in an emergency.

11. Our Insurance and Qualifications

Fran-Tastic Walks holds appropriate dog-walking insurance and has canine first-aid training.

We have also undergone a DBS check.

These measures form part of our commitment to providing a responsible and professional service. They do not remove the owner's responsibility to provide accurate information about their dog or to comply with these Terms & Conditions.

12. Liability

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under UK law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.

We cannot guarantee that a dog will never become lost, injured, ill or involved in an incident, particularly where this results from circumstances outside our reasonable control or from information that has not been disclosed to us.

13. Your Responsibilities as the Owner

You remain responsible for your dog and must ensure that all information provided to Fran-Tastic Walks is accurate and complete.

You are responsible for ensuring that your dog is appropriately insured where you consider this necessary and that your dog has any legally required identification, registration or other documentation.

You must tell us about any known risks associated with your dog.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time where reasonably necessary, including to reflect changes to our services or legal requirements.

The version applicable to your booking will be the version provided or made available to you before the booking is accepted.

15. Complaints

If you have a concern about our service, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible so that we can try to resolve the matter.

We aim to deal with complaints fairly, respectfully and promptly.

16. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects any statutory rights you have as a consumer.
